There seems to be a forum of HYUNDAI here......
As you know, HYUNDAI is S.Korean company.
Why is there a HYUNDAI forum here?

In Europe, Is HYUNDAI known as a japanse company?

si il y a un forum " hyundai " ici c'est parce que cette marque n'est pas tres connue chez nous et n'est en aucun cas considéré comme marque japonnaise .

In short, HYUNDAI is not wellknown here.
And HYUNDAI is not recognised as Japanese Car at all though there are few peple who know HYUNDAI?

Well, Hyundai isn t japanese but yes, Hyundai cars are generally included on Japanese cars for these reasons:
- Most of french people don t know Hyundai so good and think that s japanese.
- Most of people confused Honda with Hyundai (i know, they are idiots =p)
- Korea is asiatic AS Japan... In fact we consider the japanese and Korean cars as japanese cause asiatic.. and so regrouped as Japanese in this forum.
- And that s better to put Hyundai (Korean enterprise) in a Japanese forum cause Hyundai have the same style as Japanese cars
Btw Hyundai is becoming better known actually in France. I see a lot of Hyundai these days. And that s prolly the only car constructor who growth his sale relatively good in France (but that s normal, Hyundai could only go up seeing their sale before 2002 =p).

Par la meme occasion, Hyundai devient de plus en plus connu actuellement en France. Je vois bcp de Hyundai en ce moment. Et c est probablement le seul constructeur automobile qui voit ses ventes grandir relativement bien en France (mais bon c est normal, ils ne pouvaient que monter vu leurs ventes jusqu a 2002 =p).

In fact, hyundai cars are based on Japanese cars (especially Mitsubishi) so they resenble those of japanese in concept of design and style..
I really worried about whether there are some misunderstanding of the relation of countries...!!
Maybe you think that Japan and Korea are indeed alike when you see us (japanese and korean) but in fact it is not internally, mentarlly.
Japanese and Korean are completly defferent from each other in our view of our history and mind....
So please do not regard the two as the same...
